Lady of Eccentricity

10 October 2010 at 16:50

She's a beautiful lionness
That roars and growls for her territory
Seemingly tough, scary to the normal crowd
But for those above her, seemingly unimportant

She clutches to her heart, like a mother to her nestlings
She wraps her fears, like a spider to its prey
She catches thieves, and consumes them
Like a black widow to her mate.

She's a leopard, fast out of grasp.
She's a bee, pollinating the thirsty flowers.
She's a kitten, purring for comfort.
She's a sea mouse, rare and hidden.

She leaves a mark in her footsteps.
She moves forward with seeming ease.
She turns back to her past, with restlessness
For she fears that history, may become her future

She once felt abandoned and out of place.
She probably still does, but shows it, she does not.
But she knows not, that she bears a crown on her head
That in her world, she is queen not pond.

She's a hydrangea, not the venus that people see
She's soft and delicate, but adopts the armour of an armadillo
And the horns of a bull
Not just to scare, but to feel protected too

She's one in a trillion, she's special
if only she believed it too.
And knows, that there is more love in the few for her
Than the acting many.
